Ed Preston

Hi, my name is Ed Preston, owner of Bike King.  I have been riding a bike ever since I was 6 years old and I have loved every minute.  I am a native of Bucks County. specifically Penndel and Hulmeville.  I graduated from Neshaminy High school where I ran Track and Cross Country. It was during this time that I developed a serious interest in cycling and I applied for my 1st racing license in 1984.  Earlier that same year, I loaded up my Trek 640 with a set of panniers and a tent and I headed West to MO to visit some family.  The journey home took 17 days and it was at this time that I  viewed our beautiful country the way it was suppose to be.....on a bike, 1 mile at a time.  After that, I combined my 2 loves, running and riding, and started doing triathlons and biathlons.  I continued tourinEd Racingg with my WAY older brother and a group of his friends.  I will never forget the Gettysburg trip and the "Park Ranger Type Dude"!  My bike has taken me to a lot of places in this country form New Mexico to North Carolina to Niagra Falls.  Whether I'm touring, racing or just riding with friends, man I love my bike! Check out some of my bikes below.

After high school, I worked at Guy's Bicycles while attending school at night to get a degree in Engineering.  Guy taught me about bikes, but more importantly, he taught me the necessary skills needed to pursue a trade that would allow me to make a living and raise a family.  Thanks Guy!  30 some years later I have my own store and I still love my work.  I am a mechanic, not a technician as some shops call it.  My dad was a mechanic, my brothers are mechanics (though not in the bicycle industry).  I fix things.  I am a Campy Guy. I have been riding Campagnolo since my original Trek.  I still have my license and race when I can.  Usually I compete in the Cat. 3 field, but I prefer Masters Racing.

Most of the racing I do now is with a Soap Box Car with my youngest daughter.  I have a wife of 22 years and 2 great kids, one in college, and the othera Freshman in high school.
